It has been a busy time for the Co-op! We hosted our annual member-owner meeting over Zoom last Wednesday, October 27th. The recording of that meeting and our annual report will be available soon. Our Board Elections wrapped up October 28th and we elected Lisa Nelson as a new member and re-elected Paige Everly and Kate Dunning as returning board members. Phase I of our Capital Campaign yielded over 400 individual contributions and garnered more than $720,000 toward our goal of $1.6 million. How amazing is that?! Also impressive is that we raised a larger percentage of our overall goal in Phase I than other co-op capital Phase I campaigns in similar markets, like Oshkosh, WI. This is even more validation that our community wants the Rooted Carrot Co-op to happen. And it IS happening!Continue reading→

Celebrated by cooperatives nationwide during the month of October, National Co-op Month is an annual opportunity to raise awareness of a trusted, proven way to do business and build communities. Under the theme “Build Back for Impact,” this year’s Co-op Month is also a chance to leverage our shared cooperative identity in the face of some of the biggest challenges we face: a global pandemic, climate emergency and systemic racism. Our Co-op community has been through a lot. Especially, like everyone else, during the last 18 months. Many of you have given much of your time over the years volunteering for the Co-op, attending events, and giving your support. The pandemic has been particularly hard on our volunteer base. RCCM’s board of directors has been doing just that (except for the slowing down part!).
