24-Carrot Goal

The Communications Committee is getting excited about the next phase of the capital campaign, which is slated for early next year! We’ve been busy–you probably noticed in your email and on Facebook that we’ve created a month-long campaign called “24 Carrot Goal,” a play on the words 24-karat gold.

24 Carrot Goal is a short-term fundraiser for the Rooted Carrot Capital Campaign, aiming to raise $24,000 before the end of this calendar year. It’s a golden opportunity for you to make a tax-deductible, year-end gift to the Capital Campaign! When a donation is made through the Rooted Carrot Co-op Market fund at the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, it’s tax-deductible and easy to do – just click on this link to support this important community project. We’ve already got our first donations!!

It’s more than a donation though–a gift to the Rooted Carrot Co-op is a long-term INVESTMENT in a healthy, sustainable future for the entire Cedar Valley. YOU can help us reach this goal and get us one step closer to opening our dream store! To learn more about our 24 Carrot Goal campaign, click here.

In other communications news, we’ve invited a UNI student to intern with our committee, giving her the opportunity to hone her marketing skills and experience the behind-the-scenes of a capital fundraiser. No doubt we’ll learn a few things from her! We also hope to get insight into tapping the UNI student market since the Co-op will be in a prime location to also serve the UNI community. The Committee is also busy contacting members who have donated at least once, asking that they share with other members exactly why they have invested in the Rooted Carrot Co-op. These donors are passionate about bringing the Co-op to fruition, and we thought you’d like to hear what they have to say! If you are interested in making a written statement (we can help!), or being interviewed, or writing a letter to the editor on why this community needs and can support a Co-op, please call 319-535-0281.
