March Member-Owner Madness

Several local businesses have partnered with the Cedar Falls Food Co-op during the month of March to add value to our blossoming community-owned food co-op!! Sidecar Coffee, Sidecar Coffee Roasters, Oster Regent Theater & Singlespeed Brewing are offering some fun & exciting benefits for new & existing founding member-owners.

During the month of March member-owners who show their co-op membership card (that comes in the mail after you join) will receive a free cup of coffee with the purchase of a freshly baked scone at Sidecar Coffee located at 2215 College St. This offer will be provided all month long & may be used daily!

Sidecar Coffee takes pride in brewing locally roasted coffee with care and craft in order to maximize enjoyment of your daily cup of coffee.  Nothing in their shop is automatic, as they believe that nothing beautiful comes easy. Almost no food or drink featured in their shop travels more than five miles to their front door, so they understand the value of keeping it fresh & local.

Sidecar Coffee Roasters is a craft coffee roaster, located in downtown Cedar Falls, IA. Carefully selecting choice beans, roasting seasonal coffees & delivering them fresh. You’ll taste the difference! All newly joining founding member-owners to the Cedar Falls Food Coop in the month of March will receive, delivered to their doorstep, a complimentary bag of freshly roasted Sidecar Coffee. How awesome is that?!

SingleSpeed Brewing Co. & Sidecar Coffee Roasters have teamed up to create an all-new, all-local, specially made American Imperial Coffee Stout brew that will debut on Wednesday March 11th at SingleSpeed Brewing Co. 128 Main St. downtown Cedar Falls. Cooperate Stout will be tapped at 4pm & you’re invited to taste the local brew with us! For every beer sold, SingleSpeed Brewing Co. will donate $1 to the co-op AND those who become a founding member-owner at the event will receive their first Cooperate Stout draft FREE!! Cheers!

The Cedar Falls Food Co-op in conjunction with the Oster Regent Theatre will host a screening of the documentary film “Food Patriots” for current co-op member-owners as well as the Cedar Valley community at large. Join us at the Oster Regent Theater 103 Main St. downtown Cedar Falls on March 22, 2015 at 1:30 PM. Childcare will be available for $5.

This is an opportunity to learn about the power a community has to make changes about food choices. With almost 100 member-owners who have joined the Cedar Falls Food Co-op’s efforts to establish a full-service grocery focusing on local, healthy and organic food, we encourage more like-minded community members to attend this event.

After the movie, we will host a discussion about the film as well as provide information about the Co-op, our progress so far and how to become member-owners. Members who join that day will receive two free tickets to an upcoming production at the Oster Regent Theatre who will co-host this screening.
