A Community of Investors

Phase I of our Capital Campaign yielded over 400 individual contributions and garnered more than $720,000 toward our goal of $1.6 million. How amazing is that?! Also impressive is that we raised a larger percentage of our overall goal in Phase I than other co-op capital Phase I campaigns in similar markets, like Oshkosh, WI. This is even more validation that our community wants the Rooted Carrot Co-op to happen. And it IS happening!

There is a community of Co-op volunteers behind the scenes right now who are prepping for Phase II of the Capital Campaign, slated for early 2022. One such committee is the Capital Campaign Communications team. We presently are working together on a communication plan that includes radio, publications, e-mails, events, and more. Our work, combined with the recent refinements on the building plan, will springboard us into Phase II and success!

Now, Phase II will require a community of investors (you!) to invest in their community! There are several ways you can help:

  1. When our calling team reaches out to you, or you receive an email, take a minute to respond and ask questions. They are nice people, and they won’t bite—we feed them before handing them the phone.
  2. You can contribute whatever dollar amount you feel comfortable donating to the campaign.
  3. Spread the word; invest a little of your time to talk with friends, coworkers, etc. to let them know how they can help bring a lasting co-op grocery business to the Cedar Valley!
  4. Volunteer. We are currently looking for volunteers to make phone calls to other Rooted Carrot member-owners during our Phase II Capital Campaign. Callers will be part of a team that receives training and support before and during the campaign. This A-Team should have strong communication skills, be comfortable making phone calls, and enjoy sharing their enthusiasm about the Co-op with others. This is an ideal opportunity for volunteers who want to help with this very important phase in making the Co-op’s cooperative grocery store a reality, and who prefer a short-term commitment (6-8 weeks starting in January 2022).

Thank you for your support, and we’ll talk again soon!
