WANTED: Volunteers to help us grow!

Everyone knows the saying “Many hands make light work!” Currently we have a small handful of  Rooted Carrot volunteers doing a lot of work to keep the effort of bringing the Rooted Carrot Co-op Market to our community. Please continue to read this article to see how you can get involved. You don’t have to be a member to volunteer. You don’t have to spend hours each month. You can choose to be on a committee and/or volunteer for weekly or monthly tasks that are needed to make the Co-op successful.

Everyone learns in a different way! Please read through this article to learn about  what we need for volunteers to make the Rooted Carrot Co-op Market a reality. If interested in learning more, please join us on October 26th from 5-6 p.m. (prior to our Member-Owner annual meeting) to meet with Board Members to learn more about these opportunities. The location will be finalized soon and will be in the downtown area. If you are a member-owner you will receive email updates. You can also find information on our social media.

Wanted: Passionate, enthusiastic individuals to help with these committees and their specific tasks.

If you want to sign up to volunteer ASAP go to https://rootedcarrot.coop/volunteer/ to indicate your interest and get started right away!

Capital Campaign

Campaign Callers:

We are currently looking for volunteers to make phone calls to Rooted Carrot member/owners during our next Capital Campaign.  Callers will be part of a team that receives training and support before and during the campaign and will be using our user-friendly new caller database app! Volunteers should have strong communication skills, be comfortable making phone calls, and enjoy sharing their enthusiasm about the Co-op with others.  This is an ideal opportunity for volunteers who want to help with the next very important phase in making the Cedar Valley’s only community-owned grocery store a reality, and who prefer a short-term commitment (6-8 weeks once the campaign kicks off).

Communications

We are currently looking for volunteers to help other committee members with general communication via the Garlic Press Newsletter, press releases, member-owner emails, and Facebook/Instagram. You can choose which “job” fits your passion and you don’t need to be an expert in these areas. We use tools like a Master Communication Document, Meta Business planner, Canva for graphics, and Mailchimp.  Volunteers should have a strong desire to share Co-op news, learn about these tools, and meet deadlines. We also need social media fiends who can spread the co-op message to new and upcoming platforms

In addition, we are looking for someone to put together a comprehensive communication plan for our future site announcement.

Membership

We are currently looking for cheerleaders who will enthusiastically share their co-op story at community events throughout the area!

We are also looking for enthusiastic individuals who enjoy planning events like Member Mixers, a future Site Announcement, Sturgis Falls Co-op events, Fall Festival, and more!

Operations

We are currently looking for individuals to help Co-Chair this committee and serve on this committee. This is an ideal opportunity for volunteers who want to help with the next very important phase in making the Cedar Valley’s only community-owned grocery store a reality. Once a site is announced the Operations Committee will be tasked with leading the efforts to hire a General Manager for the Co-op. The General Manager will be a key factor in the Co-op’s success once the doors are open.

In addition, there will be opportunities to complete detailed applications, policy and procedures, and update the business plan.

We look forward to seeing your volunteer application (https://rootedcarrot.coop/volunteer/). If you have questions please email us at info@rootedcarrot.coop and/or make plans to join us at the Volunteer Fair on October 26th.
