August was a busy month for the Co-op! We partnered with WeArose Co-op to host a social at their garden in Waterloo following an Urban Farm Crawl event. It was a beautiful night to gather and meet new friends! Rooted Carrot volunteers also spread the word about our co-op at information booths at the College Hill, Dunkerton, and Waterloo Urban Farmers’ Markets. This month we’re looking forward to partnering with Crawdaddy Outdoors to host our second kayak float on the Cedar River. This event is open to all- join us and bring a friend!
We continue to plug away on site work as well. We’ve been working with realtors, building owners, architects, and our store planner to determine the feasibility of a couple of different site options. It takes a lot of time, patience, and persistence, but we know the long-lasting benefits the Co-op store will bring to our community will be well-worth it.
