Principle #6: Cooperation Among Cooperatives

Rooted Carrot is a co-op ever establishing and growing itself in membership and benefit to Cedar Falls, Waterloo, and the surrounding communities.  We are governed by seven co-op principles that make us distinct from other organizations. In past newsletters, you will find information about the other five principles. You can also find more on our website. The 7 Cooperative Principles – Rooted Carrot Co-op

The sixth principle is Cooperation Between Cooperatives.  Cooperatives serve their members most effectively and strengthen the cooperative moment by working together through local, national, regional, and international structures. Working together makes us stronger, increases our buying power, and helps to keep our businesses stable. Cooperation between Cooperatives strengthens the co-op movement as a whole. Rooted Carrot Co-op Committee members exchange ideas with other Co-ops by attending conferences and webinars; working with consultants, and participating in Facebook groups.
