August Board Update

We had a great time celebrating our volunteers in person at Washington Park! It was great to see everyone! Thank you to all the volunteers who have dedicated their time to the Co-op!

I wanted to share Committee Updates. Committee chairs and volunteers are continuing to work hard behind the scenes to make the Co-op a reality.

The Capital Campaign Committee led by Tom Wickersham is rebuilding their team and regrouping for an active Phase 2 of the Capital Campaign. Stay tuned for more details!

The Communications Committee led by myself brings you the monthly newsletter, daily social media posts, and keeps the website updated. All of these things keep us busy!

The Finance Committee led by Sally Razor works hard to keep our transactions reconciled. The 2021-2022 budget was created by finance volunteers with input from the board and committees. The board approved the budget.

The Membership Committee led by Paige Everly is working on scheduling pop-up events and distributing door hangers. They are exploring options for Rooted Carrot yard signs. Stay tuned!

The Operations Committee led by Angela Yancy and Sally Razor are working on details for hiring a GM in the future, a survey for members and nonmembers, and updating our Community Partners and their discounts on the website and app. Community Partners were previously referred to as Business Partners.

The Site Committee led by Kate Dunning continues to meet with the builder and his team as well as the City. Conversations are taking place regularly for all points of difference and everybody is committed to making the project happen. We are on track with other Co-ops across the nation. On average it takes 7-10 years for a Co-op to open. Congratulations to Oshkosh Food Co-op who recently opened after 8 years of planning and preparation.
