Summer Might Be Winding Down, But the Co-op is Just Getting Warmed Up

There are so many fun things going on with the co-op this month it’s cRaZy!! As I’m sure you read in our newsletter already, we are transforming our business partner of the month program into our business partner program to include the many businesses that have opted to partner with us for different lengths of time. As we round out 2015, we’ll still have a few monthly offerings.

During the month of August, Vintage Iron Co. has generously offered members of the CFFC 20% off any one regularly-priced item this month. Vintage Iron is a locally owned & operated chic boutique filled with gorgeous gifts for you, your family & friends or your home. Wanting to be part of that green scene? Go with Herbs!  Not only will they scent your home and flavor your food but they are easy to grow and add to your natural landscape. Luann Alemao, food/nutrition educator and herb grower, gardener and TV host will teach you in an interactive workshop about herbs and how to grow them in your own yard or containers.  Learn how to pair them appropriately with food delights and beverages. The class will be held Monday August 24th at the Cedar Falls Public Library from 6-7:30pm at no charge. All are welcome to attend. Please save the date!!

Last but certainly not least…

Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 23rd, from 1-3 p.m. for CFFC’s Sweet Corn Meet. Let’s celebrate the local, seasonal August treasure of sweet corn with a festive potluck. This family-friendly event will give you an opportunity to show off your favorite sweet corn inspired recipe, gather menu ideas, and hang out with other co-op supporters. Look for more details to follow shortly, but please make plans to hang out with us Sunday, August 23rd before the bustle of the school year begins.
