March Board Update

It’s hard to believe spring is right around the corner!  The Membership Committee is working hard to develop ideas focused on increased member engagement and to welcome our newest members!  Volunteer orientations continue to occur, with sessions held by board member Paige Everly on a monthly basis.

The member survey has closed and data collected!  Thanks again to all who took the time to respond!  Look for an article in the April Garlic Press with results and a summary.

The Site Committee has continued to communicate with the City of Cedar Falls, our developer and a variety of support players to determine how the new city code passed in fall of 2021 will affect our store site on 7th and Main Streets.  City officials have determined that we will need to follow the new code.  As previously communicated by the Board, this new code and our current building and parking design do not align.  In close concert with our developer, we are exploring new options for building design to address these changes.

The annual Up and Coming conference is upon us!  This year’s conference will be held in Madison, Wisconsin May 19-21.  This conference is a great way to learn about cooperatives, including strategies for success and problem-solving.  There are lots of sessions to choose from and something for every interest.  Anyone who would like more information, please email info@rootedcarrot.coop or search for Up and Coming Food Co-op Conference 2022 on Facebook.
