Like all start-up food co-ops, the Rooted Carrot Co-op Market will be conducting a capital campaign to raise the funds necessary to open a full-service grocery store.

As was announced at the annual member-owner meeting on Sept. 30, the goal of the campaign is about $1.5-$1.6 million.  The campaign will take place in early 2021.

The committee will be raising funds for things like leasehold improvements, staff salaries, and legal and consulting fees. The largest cost for the new grocery store will be equipment, which includes freezers, display cases, and point of sale systems. Equipment costs alone are projected to be over $700,000.

More details about the campaign will be in upcoming newsletters. Co-op members interested in joining the Capital Campaign Team are asked to send an email to chair Tom Wickersham at tomwick@sbcglobal.net.
